The Goudse Schouwburg announces first programs for packed National Theater Weekend - Featured

The Goudse Schouwburg theater will open its doors on Saturday, January 24, and Sunday, January 25, for the National Theater Weekend. For two days, the theater will be completely dedicated to discovery, experience, and encounters, with surprising activities, many of which will be free of charge. The full program will be announced shortly, but the theater is already giving a sneak peek with the first items.

On Saturday, January 24, visitors can take a behind-the-scenes tour and discover what really goes on behind the theater curtains. Enthusiasts can also test their knowledge during a pub quiz, where both individual players and teams are welcome. In addition, you can attend an exclusive edition of De Cabaret Club, in which four talented comedians perform short shows. Earlier that afternoon, Myrthe van der Vuurst de Vries will present the reading performance Wie is hier de baas? (Who's the boss here?).

Sunday, January 25, kicks off with Ma'MaQueen, known from RuPaul's Drag Race Holland, and a sparkling Drag Story Hour, entirely devoted to stories, glitter, and imagination. In addition, visitors can once again participate in guided tours of the building throughout the day, for which registration is required. An absolute highlight is the circus theater performance KLAS by WIRWAR Productions. Afterwards, ticket buyers will also have the opportunity to register for a parent-child acrobatics workshop, given by two artists from the performance.

The National Theater Weekend is an annual event during which more than 70 theaters throughout the Netherlands open their doors. All performances are accessible for only €10, and throughout the weekend, additional free activities are organized that offer an accessible introduction to theater. For some parts, however, a seat must still be reserved. Young or old, regular or new visitor: everyone is welcome during Theater Weekend to enjoy everything the theater has to offer at a great price.
