Gouda Chamber Music Concerts Foundation

Who are we?

The Gouda Chamber Music Concerts Foundation was established in 2018 through a private initiative.

The reason for this is the restoration of the nearly 100-year-old Blüthner grand piano, which was used for chamber music concerts in private homes. Thanks to the original Aliquot patent system, the grand piano has an authentic, exceptionally warm sound and was loved by many composers.

To bring the unique sound of the grand piano back to life, the Gouda Chamber Music Concerts Foundation teamed up with Matthias Burghoff from Klassiek voor U to find a venue in Gouda for chamber music concerts where music, art, creativity, and culture bring people together.

The current board of the 175-year-old Sociëteit De Réunie at Oosthaven 17 shared the enthusiasm and provided space.

The Sociëteit De Réunie has a rich history of culture and conviviality. In the historic hall of the Sociëteit, the grand piano comes into its own and the tradition can be continued in a homely atmosphere.

Matthias Burghoff of Klassiek voor U comes from a family of musicians and specializes in chamber music. Klassiek voor U performs chamber music at the highest level and has a broad network of internationally renowned top musicians.
