Gouwestrand offers an industrial ambiance in the middle of the Green Heart. In addition to a cup of coffee, a cold beer, or a delicious cocktail, Gouwestrand serves honest, local, and sustainable dishes, including the most delicious dishes from its own stone oven and "beach dishes" for summer days on the beach.
Gouwestrand is open six days a week, from Tuesday to Sunday. The menu features honest and flavorful dishes, with an emphasis on vegetarian and vegan options. The restaurant also cooks on an open fire: it has a stone oven, a smoker, and a charcoal oven. Chef Danny Dijkhuizen is full of great ideas.
From shared dining to beach chairs
Gouwestrand offers shared dining with our changing specials on the menu. Beach dishes play the leading role on the beach. There is an outdoor bar and the beach is equipped with beanbags, beach chairs, and parasols. Part of the beach is covered by a large beach pavilion. On the terrace at the front of Gouwestrand, guests can enjoy the view of the Hollandsche IJssel river, the idyllic city center of Gouda, and the 't Slot windmill.
