Clay workshop Witheet

A fun team or family outing in Gouda

Would you like to participate in a fun workshop and learn about ceramics? Then this is your chance. You are welcome to visit the studio and get your hands dirty with clay to make a cup or bowl, for example. (On a bachelorette party, you can make a tile tableau or set of bowls together as a gift). Fenna is a ceramist and will be guiding this morning's workshop. No experience is necessary.

Clay workshop Witheet is located in a special place, GOUDasfalt. This site of the former asphalt factory is now a creative breeding ground where you can have lunch before or after your workshop, meet other creators, or take a walk past the information panels. The address is Gouderaksedijk 32, see also www.goudasfalt.nl. It is located opposite the historic city center of Gouda on the river.

What does the ceramics workshop look like?

· Information about the basic techniques of hand molding while enjoying a cup of coffee or tea with a snack;

· In a relaxed atmosphere, you will work with hand-molding clay (not IJssel clay) and create your own piece of art.

· At the end of the morning, we carefully pack the workpiece away to dry. This takes several weeks, depending on the weather.

After drying, Fenna fires your piece and glazes it. After the second (glaze) firing, you will be notified to pick it up. It has become usable ceramics!
