During the CityBeerWalk, you can discover everything as our guest thanks to the perfect guidance of our Beer Guide, who not only tells you about beer culture, but also fills your tasting glasses along the way and takes you on a journey through history. As you walk, you will learn more about the history, highlights, and flavors of Gouda! In distinctive pubs, guests enjoy a unique selection of five beers accompanied by typical Gouda treats such as beer and cheese, bakery beer, and of course the Gouda stroopwafel. Enjoy the historic surroundings where beer was one of the most important parts of daily life.

Gouda, once the epicenter of beer culture in the Low Countries, developed its own unique style of beer, also known as the "pint" of the Middle Ages! This so-called Kuit or Kuytbier was drunk from the Wadden Sea to the Seine in Paris and was even the most popular beer for a century in the largest^16th-century port city in Europe: Antwerp! Hundreds of brewers and breweries gave Gouda its own Golden Beer Age.

Learn where the brewing water came from, where the breweries were located, and where the beer was loaded on board. A genuine and unexpected three-hour experience, the history of which can now only be recounted by a handful of specialists!
