Janmaat Cheese Farm

Janmaat Cheese Farm

Various activities are available at the cheese farm. Guided tours and cheese tastings are organized regularly.

The Janmaat family business is located on the outskirts of Woerden, at Barwoutswaarder 57 between Woerden and Nieuwerbrug. The farm is located 300 meters back in the countryside. Approximately 70 cows are milked on the dairy farm, pig farm, and cheese factory. The milk is processed into various types of farmhouse cheese and herb cheeses, including cumin, fenugreek, paprika, and garden herbs. The cows are kept outdoors as much as possible and are raised in an environmentally friendly manner.

Cheese has been made here since time immemorial. Cor took over the business from his parents and Ria has taken various courses. The cheese is mainly made during the summer months. Because the cows eat grass in the summer, the famous grass cheese is very flavorful. The grass cheese from September is therefore ideal for aging.

Farmhouse cheese is made from unpasteurized milk, which gives it a richer flavor. This natural product is made without colorants or preservatives, resulting in a pure taste.

Farmhouse cheese for summer and winter, for cold and warm weather: it never gets boring! Suitable for sandwiches or as a snack with drinks.

Janmaat Cheese Farm participates in the annual cheese competitions in the region. They were once nominated for the top 5 farm cheese companies in the Netherlands.

Sales take place directly from the farm and at the regional market in Woerden.
