In one of the picturesque alleys in the center of Gouda lies the Suikerpandje, a former sugar warehouse. The Suikerpandje has been a very popular bed and breakfast for many years.
At the end of 2017, De Spiegeltent transferred ownership of its beloved Suikerpandje to Hans de Haas and Jeannette Lugthart. Following extensive renovations in 2018, Het Suikerpandje is now completely up to date and exudes comfort, charm, and intimacy.
On the first floor, under the authentic wooden "dakkap," there are two cozy guest rooms with comfortable box-spring beds. The crystal chandeliers complete the atmosphere. Both rooms have their own luxurious bathroom, one of which is located on the ground floor. There is a cozy, intimate living room with a kitchenette where you can make a delicious cup of Nespresso and/or tea. There is also a mini-fridge, egg boiler, and toaster, so you can make your own breakfast. Through the French doors, you enter a nice sunny spot where you can relax.
From the Suikerpandje, it is only a few minutes' walk to the Market Square with its beautiful town hall and St. John's Church. There is a wide variety of restaurants and cafés where you can have breakfast, lunch, dinner, or enjoy a glass of wine or beer. Gouda is located in the Green Heart, so a bike ride to the Reeuwijkse Plassen lakes or the beautiful town of Oudewater is well worth the effort. Would you rather visit one of the big cities? The train station is within walking distance (10 minutes) and within 20 minutes you can be in Utrecht, The Hague, or Rotterdam. There is also a direct connection to Amsterdam (50 minutes).
Breakfast upon request.
