Grand Café Central

Grand Café Central

Grand Café Central has been located at Markt 23 in Gouda since 1916. Passed down from father to son to son, Grand Café Central is owned by the de Groot family.

Over the years, Grand Café Central has developed its own character, with its back room, "the Salon," where beautiful Art Deco murals immediately catch the eye. The Salon offers space for receptions, parties, and dinners.

The café also distinguishes itself from other cafés in Gouda with its side room, "de Buren." Here you will find a large reading table where you can enjoy a delicious cup of coffee, accompanied by delicious fresh pastries if you wish, while reading a newspaper or magazine. The large reading table is also ideal for enjoying a meal or a drink with friends or family.

In the front room, "the Café," the statue of Thérèse of Lisieux will catch your eye, watching over the guests and staff and complementing the café's distinctive ambiance. Overlooking the medieval market square, the café is a pleasant place to eat and drink. On the sunny terrace facing the market, you can enjoy what Grand Café Central has to offer on warm days.
