From February 6 to May 10, 2025, Stephanie Louwrier will be touring the country with her musical one-woman show Let's Get Louder , in which the seasoned performer takes on the ultimate challenge: being unfiltered and honest about everything that is going on inside her. The theater production is a co-production of Via Rudolphi Productions and DOX. The premiere is on Thursday, February 27, at the Bellevue Theater in Amsterdam.
With her fortieth birthday approaching, Stephanie Louwrier wonders: "What does my future look like? Am I ready for a house, a tree, and a pet? Should I think about having children? Could it be that my mother and grandmother's fears have been passed on to me?" Stephanie Louwrier is ready to speak her mind, unfiltered and raw, in Let's Get Louder. Her new musical one-woman show is a search for who she wants to be as a person.
Stephanie touches on universal themes: identity, vulnerability, the pressure of expectations, intergenerational trauma, and discovering your own voice. Do you have to shout back in this world where everyone is shouting to be heard? Or is there room for silence and doubts? In a rollercoaster of honesty, you gain insight into her doubts, but you can also daydream about sex with Ryan Gosling and a world where cellulite is just cool. Using a voice distorter, she creates her own music live, which helps her say things she wouldn't otherwise dare to say. It makes the performance a unique musical experience. With a combination of sharp humor, raw honesty, and musical performances, Let's Get Louder promises to be a performance that not only touches but also inspires.
Stephanie: “After a performance at the Parade, a group of friends told me that they had known each other for years, but that this was the first time they had really talked to each other. That is exactly what I hope to achieve with Let’s Get Louder.”
