All your loved ones gathered around the table in one evening—isn’t that what you want?

On March 26, art, theater, and food come together at Museum Gouda. Expect the unexpected during a unique, experimental dinner where you’ll experience the exhibition Faith with all your senses.

Date: March 26,
Time: 6:30 PM
Price: 25 euros (includes museum admission)
Amid career changes, the stress of homeownership, adventurous travels, the pressure to “make the most of life,” and the not-always-subtle doubts about our future, we’re also searching for the answer to the question of what the meaning of our lives is. But there’s one question we ask ourselves even more often: what are we having for dinner tonight?

New Perspectives
The most candid conversations often arise during dinners with friends—about what’s on our minds, what recharges us, and what gives us direction. It is precisely those moments that can provide a sense of grounding, give meaning, and open up new perspectives.

Chef as Creator
This evening, we’ll translate the themes from the exhibition “Faith” into thoughtful flavors, theatrical scenes, and meaningful conversations. Can sharing a meal provide a sense of stability? Is there meaning to be found in what’s on your plate? And isn’t a chef also a kind of creator? Taste, watch, listen, and let yourself be surprised.

Collaboration This experimental dinner is a collaboration between Museum Gouda and the Pollen Foundation, developed in partnership with theater artist Flo van Dam and the Kliek Foundation.

The Pollen Foundation
The Pollen Foundation was established in September 2024 to develop inspiring initiatives in Gouda and the surrounding region that foster imagination, creativity, and open dialogue in society through art, design, and culture. Johanna Weggelaar, the founder, created the Food Stories program as an exploration of Gouda’s food cultures and the unifying power of food.

Flo van Dam
Flo van Dam is a theater artist from Gouda who hopes to make the world a little more beautiful through her work. With her background as a theater teacher, she is particularly fascinated by the interaction between the artwork and the audience, and she is always looking for ways to spark a conversation. The starting point? Curiosity, wonder, and vulnerability. She wants the audience to feel seen, even if that sometimes feels uncomfortable and more like being caught. It’s okay if it rubs people the wrong way, but there should always be room for laughter. “As long as we live in a world of polarization, division, and loneliness, my work as a theater maker will feel like a protest. Like an objection, like an uprising, like rebellion. The rebellion of coming together, meeting, and truly daring to see one another.”

Chefs from the Kliek Foundation
The Kliek Foundation was founded in 2023 by a group of young people passionate about our food system and eager to make a difference. The foundation aims to combat food waste and improve culinary skills through creative and artistic experiential dinners that leave a lasting impact. Jelmen Grundel of Kliek is cooking this event together with Lucas Kuyl of Gebakken Lucht.

Please note: space is limited. The dinner is entirely vegetarian. Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate food allergies.
